Palada Pradhaman(Palada Payasam)-South Indian Dessert
Payasam - is a traditional dessert in the Indian subcontinent. Palada pradhaman is made of flakes of cooked rice, milk, and sugar. Pieces of flour paste (ada) is boiled in milk and sweetened with sugar.
Ingredients
1)Milk-4 cup
2)Water-2 cup
3)Condensed Milk-1 Cup
4)Butter-2 tsp
5)Ada-1/4 Cup
6)Sugar-1/2 Cup
7)Cardamom Powder-A pinch
8)Fried Cashews and Raisins for Garnish
How to Prepare
1)Soak ada in boiling water for around 5-10 minutes.
2)Wash it in cold water and also make sure that its not sticking to each other.
3)Heat butter in a pan and fry ada till it becomes pink in colour.
4)Boil the milk and water in a vessel.
5)When it starts boiling add ada to it and reduce heat.
6)Stir it continuously till the milk is reduced to 2/3 rd.
7)The milk should turn pink in colour.
8)Add the condensed milk and cook for another 10 minutes.
9)Depending on the sweetness of the condensed milk, you may add sugar at this stage.
10)Turn off the gas, Add cardamom powder and fried cashews and raisins.
Delicious Palada Pradhaman is ready to be served.
