Mushroom Biscuits
Try something new- A light and delicious biscuit recipe.
Ingredients
1)Dried black trumpet mushrooms-1/3 cup
2)Butter-3 tsp
3)Quick cooking oats-1/2 cup
4)All purpose flour-1 1/2 cup
5)Cepe powder-2 tsp
6)Baking powder-1 tsp
7)Butter stick-cut into small pieces-5 tsp
8)Milk-3/4 cup
How to prepare
1)Soak the mushrooms in hot water for half an hour or until soft.
2)Strain the soaking liquid and reserve 1/4 cup.
3)Drain the mushrooms,chop it and keep it aside.
4)Preheat the oven to 37 degree F,grease the baking sheet with
butter.
5)Grind the quick cooking oats to the consistency of fine meal.
6)Mix oats,mushrooms,all purpose flour,cepe powder,baking powder
and salt,mix it well,mix the butter(5 tsp) into it and refrigerate
it for 10-12 minutes.
7)Sprinkle milk over the flour mixture,to make a moist dough.
8)Turn the contents out onto a well-floured surface and with
floured hands and a few pushes,pat the dough into a rectagle.
9)Cut the dough into 2 inch squares and place this on a baking
sheet and bake for about 20 minutes,until light golden brown.
10)Remove it from the oven and allow it to cool.
Mushroom Biscuits are ready to be served.
