Kerala Fish Curry - Meen Curry
Ingredients
1)Fish-1/2 kg
2)Garlic-4 cloves
3)Kudampuli-(Tamarind)
4)Curry leaves
5)Cocunut Oil/Vegetable Oil-4 tsp
6)Small Onion(Shallot)-6
7)Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
8)Chili powder-2 tsp
9)Pepper powder-a pinch
10)Fenugreek-(ulluva)-1/4 tsp
11)Coriander Powder-1/2 tsp
12)Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
13)Salt to taste
How to Prepare
1)Soak Kudampuli(Tamarind) in 1 Cup of Hot water.
2)Cut the onion into small pieces ,Heat oil in a pan add mustard
seeds to it and when it starts popping add small onion,garlic,
ginger,Pepper powder,Red chilli powder,Turmeric powder,curry
leaves to it saute for some time.
3)Add the Kudampuli and water to the above and when it starts
boilng add fish to it,reduce the flame and add fenugreek
powder and salt.
4)And cook till gravy thickens.
5)Turn off the gas and add curry leaves to it.
Fish Curry is ready to be served.
