Kappa Puzhukku - Mashed Tapioca

Tapioca is essentially a flavorless starchy ingredient,or fecula, produced from treated and dried cassava (manioc) root and used in cooking.

Ingredients

1)Tapioca-1(medium sized)
2)Grated Coconut-1/2 cup
3)Salt as required
4)Small onion or shallot-8 nos
5)Red Chilly powder-2 tsp
6)Curry Leaves
7)Cumin Seeds -a pinch
8)Oil-4 tsp

How to Prepare

1)Boil water in a vessel,add Tapioca(Kappa,Yucca root)and salt
  to it cook till it is very soft,Mash the Tapioca and keep it
  aside.
2)Grind grated coconut with Red chilli,cumin seeds and salt.
3)Add coconut to tapioca and mix it well.
4)Heat oil in a pan,add small onion to it and saute it
  and mix this with tapioca.Turn off the gas.
5)Add curry leaves and oil to cooked tapioca and mix it
  well.

Kappa puzhukku/Mashed Tapioca is ready to be served.
