Green beans/Payaru Thoran

Thorans may be made with green beans/Payaru,shredded cabbage,spinach,carrot etc.This can be served with rice.

Ingredients

1)Payaru(green beans)-450 gm
2)Shallot-3 no
3)Green Chillies-2
4)Grated Coconut-1/2 cup
5)Turmeric powder-1 tsp
6)Cumin seeds-1 tsp
7)Vegetable oil-8 tsp
8)Curry leaves
9)Red chilli-1 no
10)Mustard seeds-1 tsp

How to prepare

1)Cut the beans into 1/4 inch rounds.
2)Heat oil in a pan,when it is hot add mustard seeds and red
  chilli to it and when it starts popping add small onion,green
  chillies,turmeric powder,coconut,garlic to it and mix it well.
3)Add green beans to this and saute it well.
4)Add oil and salt,reduce the heat to medium and cook for 8 minutes
  or unil the beans are tender.

Green beans/Payaru Thoran is ready to be served.

    Hi,

    At what point do we add the beans?You have not mentioned about adding the already cut beans. Also do we have to add water to it for the beans to become tender or just heating it for 8 minutes would do?
