Dal Makhani

Dal Makhani is a very Popular dish from Punjab.This is an all time party dish.

Ingredients

1)Black gram lentils-1 cup
2)Kidney Beans-1/4 cup
3)Chopped onion-1/2 cup
4)Salt to taste
5)Minced Ginger and garlic-2 tsp
6)Green chilli-1
7)Cumin Powder-1/2 tsp
8)Coriander Powder-1/2 tsp
9)Garam Masala-1 tsp
10)Cream/butter-3 tsp
11)Red chili powder-1 tsp
12)Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
13)Tomato-1 cut into large cubes

How to Prepare

1)Soak black gram lentils and kidnery beans overnight.
2)Cook kidney beans and black gram in a pressure cooker with water,
  salt,cumin,coriander,garam masala,turmeric powder,green chili and oninon,cook until they are soft.
3)Remove it from fire and allow it to cool.
4)Open the cooker,make sure that its cooked well.Add water and salt if required.Simmer it for 10 minutes.
5)Heat oil in another pan,when it is hot add ginger and garlic to it,saute it well add tomato and saute it for 1-2 minutes.
6)Add sauted tomatoes to the dal and cook for few minutes.
7)Add cream to this and mix it well.
8)Turn off the gas and garnish it with a spoon of cream and butter.

Dal Makhani is ready to be served.
