Chicken Stew

Chicken Stew can be served with Appam,chapathi etc.A stew is
a combination of solid food ingredients that have been cooked
in water or other water-based liquid,typically by simmering,
and they are served without being drained.

Ingredients

1)Chicken-1.5 kg
 (Cut into small pieces)
2)Vegetable oil-8 tsp
3)Pepper corns-4
4)Cinnamon Stick-1
5)Cloves-5
6)Cardamom pods-5
7)Onion-3 nos
8)Chopped Ginger-2 tsp
9)All purpose Flour- 1tsp
10)Green chillies-4
  (cut into two pieces(vertically)
11)Coconut milk-1 cup
12)Potatoes-3
   (Peeled and cut lengthwise into
    1 inch pieces)
13)Lemon juice-1 tsp
14)Small onion(shallots)-8
15)Curry leaves

How to prepare

1)Heat oil in a pan,add small onions into it and saute it
  until they are brown in colour,add curry leaves to it
  and keep it aside.
2)Heat oil in a large pan,when it is hot add cinnamon stick,
  Pepper corns,cardamom pods and cloves,saute it for a minute
  add onion and ginger and saute until the onions are
  translucent,add all purpose flour to this and stir it well.
3)Add the green chillies,chicken,water and boil it,reduce the
  heat to low and simmer for 8 minutes,Add potatoes and salt as
  required,cook till the chicken and potatoes are tender.
4)Add lime juice and sauted small onions in to the chicken stew,
  add coconut milk to this,turn off the gas after 3 minutes.

Chicken Stew is ready to be served.
