Cassis Sticks

Ingredients

1)Water-2/3 cup
2)Granulated Sugar-1/2 cup
3)Frozen whole cassis-1 cup

How to Prepare

1)Mix sugar and water in a pan,and place over high heat,bring to a boil and add    cassis ,stir gently to combine and remove from the heat.
2)Pour the mixture into a 5 x 9 inch loaf pan ,it should make a layer about 1/2 inch thick.
3)Transfer this to freezer until solid for about 2 hours
4)To unmould,dip the pan in hot water for about 5 seconds.
5)Run a sharp knife around the edges to loosen the sides
    of the frozen mixture from the pan.
6)Center a cutting board over the pan and flip over the board
    and pan at the same time so that pan is on the top.Lift the
    pan.
7)Use a knife to cut the frozen mixture into 1/2 inch wide strips
     about 3 inches long.
8)Place one cassis stick in each glass and add champagne.
9)As the Cassis sticks melt, they add  a delightful fruity flavour
    to the champagne.
