Carrot soup

Ingredients 

Carrots - 500 gm
Masoor dal (red)(Parippu) -2 tsp
Bay leaf- 1 no
Cardamom– 1 no
Cinnamom stick(Karugapatta) - 1″
Grated Onion–1 no
Ghee – 1 tbsp
Sugar - 2 tsp
Salt -1 tsp
Black pepper - 1/4 tsp
Milk -1 cup
Water - 4 cups
Cheese(grated) -1 cup

How to prepare

1)Soak dal in water for two hours.
2)Grate the carrots.
3)Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add bay leaf, cinnamom stick and cardamom.
4)Fry the onions.
5)Add dal and carrots along with salt, sugar and black pepper.
6)Add milk and water together and cover it with it’s lid.
7)Wait for one whistle and then simmer it for 8-10 minutes.
8)Take it out from the pressure cooker and wait till it cools down.
9)Next, grind it in a grinder and strain it using a muslin cloth.
10)Boil it again.
11)Add cheese at the time of serving.
